For a while it seemed that traveling would become possible again this summer. For a while we could daydream of beautiful trips through Europe. But it soon became apparent that there would still be a lot of snags. Have you been vaccinated on time, are there travel restrictions and what is/is not possible? So a lot of uncertainty…
But the urge to travel again is greater than the fear of the threshold of testing and travel restrictions. After some research, Egypt turned out not to be that difficult to travel around. And now it just so happens that I (Marcel) lived in Egypt for a while, you know immediately where my love for the Middle East comes from. Egypt asks for a negative PCR test before boarding the plane, so that's not too bad! In addition, we still have 'family/friends' living in Egypt, so that in the worst case we can fall back on 'working remotely in an apartment'.
We made the decision to travel to Egypt in May, but now (July) it appears that a negative PCR test is also one of the requirements within the EU. And with Spain on orange, the difference with Egypt is actually no longer there. And although a lot of people are going to like this too, let's especially love each other. Let's just say everyone makes their own choice.
So Egypt!
Egypt has always been on the list to show my wife and children, but honesty compels me to say that the mass tourism there always made me postpone it. Now that there is less tourism, the time has come to go there. The most important things before departure:
Checking travel vaccinations, we do this at huisvaccinatie.nl Safety, especially for the children is always number 1!
schedule a PCR test
For the airline tickets, we first contacted Egyptair, which indicates the corona rules very clearly through the website. By the way, Egyptair is an average airline in terms of airlines, but the certainty that the flights to Cairo will continue is very high compared to other companies.
